Four score and seven years ago our fathers brought forth upon this continent, a new nation, conceived in Liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal. Now we are engaged in a great civil war, testing whether that nation, or any nation so conceived and so dedicated, can long endure. We are met on a great battle-field of that war. We have come to dedicate a portion of that field, as a final resting place for those who here gave their lives that that nation might live. It is altogether fitting and proper that we should do this. But, in a larger sense, we can not dedicate—we can not consecrate—we can not hallow—this ground. Final Thought/Question
As we entered the visitor center they let us know they asked if we have been in already today. After answering “no” they let us know we needed to have our bags checked.
I had to ask “If I was already in today would you need to check my bag?”
The security guard confidently answered, “No, just once a day.”
At this point, I started laughing and Stef let me know it was time to move and not push the issue…
I have to ask, does anyone else find this as pointless and I do?
